The human psyche and emotional systems are not confined to the brain alone, but are distributed along the spinal column in 7 energetical vortexes called the Chakras. Every Chakras controls a certain area of the psyche and is a resonator which can put us into resonance with the corresponding energies in the Macrocosm (see the category about Resonance).

Kundalini (or Kundalini SHAKTI as she is popularly known) is our potential life force which lies coiled up in our root center at the bottom of the spine. In the case of most people this energy is dormant, but Kundalini can be awakened through the systematic appliance of tantric and yogic techniques which will cause Kundalini to rise up through the spinal column awakening the Chakras one by one until she merges with her beloved SHIVA in the crown center Sahasrara. In this way the human being is enligtened.
